Pushing weights :-)
Well, I’m finally making progress! I think a lot of people are surprised just
how much :) Last week I went to PT only
once and was already using five pound weights for my exercises! My Physical Therapist has also added some new
stuff and increased the intensity and difficulty of my home PT exercises. My
ankle is still ‘up in the air’ (not literally :) Physical Therapist still thinks there might be some loose body
fragments. He wants me to start some
balance exercises but that is most likely going to bother my hip and my back a
lot right now, so the focus is off of my ankle for the time being. My SI belt continues to help and my back is
also getting stronger. I jammed my elbow
last week so it’s been bothering me some.
I have had problems in that elbow for a while and this seems to feel
like something that might heal if it is taken care of for a week or two.

It Actually Snowed!!!
It started snowing around four o'clock yesterday evening. Around nine o'clock, I took these shots but my battery died before I could change the settings so you can see very far:)
You can see how big the snowflakes were! |
We got about four to five inches total! |

Twice a Year
We see them once in the spring and once in the fall. Today the Ceder Waxwings flocked into our back yard for a few minutes. They usually don't stay very long. I wasn't able to take a picture but I found one online to show ya'll :)

Art class and update
I have been taking art classes downtown since I was thirteen. My instructor studied in Italy and in California. I'm in the middle of a four week portrait class. Over the years I have learned so much from his class and am always challenged to improve my skills :-)
Here is his website. Thomas Marsh
PT seems to be doing well. I am getting more ankle, knee and hip pain than anything else. My SI joint keeps coming out of place and a belt is on the way and should be here early next week. I'm hoping that will give some pain relief and help keep things in place more. I'm not supposed sit cross-legged (Indian style) anymore. Not sitting cross- legged seemed really weird and hard not to do for the first week or so, but last week my SI was only out of place in two places instead of four the week prior.
This past week or two has been a bomb for school and life in general. The flu last week, pneumonia this past weekend and of course pneumonia doesn't disappear very fast. So I have been taking naps and doing Chemistry homework whenever I can. And of course I'm getting stir crazy from the cold weather and being inside so much. But March is less than two months away :-) Its just one step at a time even though you feel like you're stuck in a pit I guess. I'm not good at it though ;-)
